About Wordsworth CUA
The mission of the Wordsworth CUA is to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and youth through services that strengthen families and engage communities so that they are able to go on to lead healthy, productive and fulfilling lives.
The Wordsworth CUA engages families and communities in raising safe, healthy and productive children through a strong network of resources, supports and services that strengthen individual, family and community protective factors.
The Philadelphia Department of Human Services’ (DHS) Improving Outcomes for Children (IOC) initiative is a broad multi-year reform plan aimed at improving the safety, permanency, and well-being of the children and families served by DHS. Based on the premise that positive outcomes are achieved through child welfare services that are family-centered, community-based, culturally competent, integrated, timely, and accountable for results, IOC is a single case management system, delivered by providers through strong community level partnerships. Wordsworth’s Community Umbrella Agency (CUA) is responsible for the provision of direct case management services to families in two regions of Philadelphia, Region 5 (Police Districts 35 and 39) and Region 10 (Police Districts 16 and 19).
The 35th and 39th Police Districts encompasses much of North Central Philadelphia from the Allegheny West community up through Logan Olney.
The 16th and 19th Police Districts encompasses parts of West Philadelphia including Overbrook, Parkside, Mantua, and Powelton. ..Read more
